The End of Harry Potter As We Know It

I know you guys are probably so over me writing about Harry Potter, BUT I CAN'T GET ENOUGH! I have finally finished the entire series of Harry Potter as of last night and I have never cried more in my life. I really had no idea how I could form such a strong bond with a movie series within a small matter of time. I watched the last three movies with my boyfriend who is a huge Potterhead so he was able to explain things further for me whenever I had questions. The biggest thing that hit me really hard that I think a lot of people overlooked regarding the whole series was the fact that Severus Snape is Harry Potters biological father. To me, the biggest plot twist that I have ever seen in a film before. I knew that Snape was in love with Lily Potter, I just didn't know that his love for her was taken to that point. It was very sad when Snape died because not only did he die not being able to tell his son that he was his father, but to have his son hate him for taking away one of his most beloved mentors. Snape had to live with this lie his whole entire life and that's why he was so hard on Harry yet cared for him so much that if anything were to happen to him Snape would have been devastated. Watching Snape hold Lily after she died protecting Harry is what humanized him for me and showed me that he was and will always be in love with Lily Potter. Also the fact that their patronus' were the same exact animal was a tell too. Last night, I spend the whole night tossing and turning after the ending and I am a new fan to the series so I could only imagine what long time lovers of the series felt when it was finally over. I will probably re-watch the last movie again tonight, but don't worry there won't be another sappy blog post about it. Excuse me while I cry some more ;(
