Hello everyone!!! Welcome back to The Film Vault 🎥 Today, I wanted to share with you some of my absolute favorite directors. About two semesters ago, I had the pleasure of taking a film class called Topics in Film where we focused on the top four directors from the 1970s and on...Martin Scorsese, George Lucas, Steven Spielberg and Francis Ford Coppola. Before I came into the class, thankfully, I have heard of every one of them, but what my professor taught me that I'll be forever grateful for is to pay attention to each directors specific technique. Every director has that special "thing" that they do, so that no matter what movie it is you would be able to figure out within minutes of who is telling this story. There are a lot of elements that get me hooked into movie, but what I have recently come to love is the cinematography and that all starts with the director. On that note, I will finally reveal my favorite director...Quentin Tarantino! Everything he has ever produced made me always take a step back and ask myself "what the hell did I just watch?" But, of course, in the best way possible. It is all so real and raw and I am just a sucker for violence and non-hero heroes. No one wants to watch a violent and gory film that doesn't make you feel like you have blood all over you. My top 3 favorite movies from Tarantino are Inglorious Bastards, Django Unchained and Kill Bill Vol. 1. Tarantino's mind is probably a very strange place to live, but definitely fun as hell.
